The housing concept is designed to integrate seamlessly into the traditional perimeter-block typology of the dense urban fabric. The ambition is to create high-quality and, hopefully, affordable homes for the city’s residents.
As a timber construction, the building can be erected up to six storeys while offering highly flexible floor plans. With a centrally placed staircase core, rooms are arranged on both sides of the circulation zone, creating a high degree of spatial flexibility. This layout enables simple and efficient variation in dwelling sizes, allowing both small and large units to be developed within the same structural system.
The building is envisioned as being constructed from sustainable timber modules or flat elements and aims for a minimum DGNB Gold certification. The system supports significant CO₂ reductions, a high level of prefabrication, and short construction times without compromising architectural quality or social considerations.
