We present a new housing concept based on fewer, but smarter square metres in each unit, constructed using prefabricated timber modules or flat elements.
The youth dwelling is conceived as a one-room studio in a 4–6 storey building. A wide range of shared facilities is possible – shown here with all communal functions located on the ground floor.
There will be up to eight units per floor, creating an active and social stairwell and enabling cost‑efficient construction.
The stairwell can be designed as an outdoor space or enclosed.
The aim is to provide affordable homes for the city’s residents and support a socially mixed urban environment. The concept can also be realised as temporary student housing.
Venligbolig Plus on Frederiksberg has served as inspiration for this project.
